3 hours later

So a couple weeks ago I came down with a cold--moved out of my nose quickly & left me with an awful cough. Tessalon Perles helped as did lots of cough drops & water. Yesterday was my 1st day sans medication so I was thinking I was on the mend.

Yeah, right.

Today I woke up w/ tooth pain. I'm not afraid of the dentist but going isn't high on my list of fun things to do. As the day went on I began to realize that it wasn't my tooth but my sinuses. By dinner time I'm feeling really icky & Hunter does the "poke Laurie's face" test. Above my eyebrows, fine. Right cheek, fine. Left cheek leaves me screaming & jumping back about 5 feet.

So we agree he'll stay home w/ the Wee One while I go to the ER on post. I check in at 645. At 845 I have been seen, diagnosed & the NP tells me that the computer system has crashed & they're trying to figure out how to get the med orders in. Oh & the pharmacist has been called up to Labor & Delivery for a sick bebe. A crashed comp. system, I can whine about. A sick newborn? I tried not to think about it too much as it made me weepy.

I've battled sinus trouble this time of year every year since the early '80's. If I don't catch it soon enough, it turns into bronchitis and that gets REALLY ugly. Do you irrigate your sinuses? It's gross, but it really helps. Hope you feel better soon.

I normally don't but I did last night. It's an icky feeling but it does help!
